Apple To Fix Security Hole In iOS 4 Used In JailbreakMe In Upcoming Software Update
If you want to jailbreak your iPhone then you should do it soon as Apple already figured out a way to fix the security hole that has been used in JailbreakMe, the web-based method to jailbreak iPhone and iPod Touch on iOS 4, iOS 4.0.1 and iPad on iPhone OS 3.2, iOS 3.2.1.
Experts had raised concern that the security vulnerability in iOS could be exploited in a similar way by malicious websites to install malware.
CNET is reporting that Apple has already figured out a way to fix the security vulnerability in iOS and plans to roll it out in the upcoming software update:
On Wednesday an Apple spokeswoman said in a statement, “We’re aware of this reported issue, we have already developed a fix and it will be available to customers in an upcoming software update.”
Apple declined to say when the update would be pushed out
It is widely speculated that Apple will include the fix for the security hole in upcoming iOS 4.1. Apple had released the third beta version of iOS 4.1 to developers of its iPhone Developer program earlier in the week.
So iPhone jailbreakers and unlockers should avoid upgrading to iOS 4.1 when it is released and wait for Comex or iPhone Dev Team to provide an update on how it impacts a jailbroken or unlocked iPhone. And if you haven’t jailbroken your iPhone then use JailbreakMe 2.0, which is the easiest method to jailbreak iPhone and Ultrasn0w to unlock your iPhone as it might take the iPhone hacking community some time to release tools to jailbreak iOS 4.1
